Ma. Angie Villarreal, MSN, FNP-BC, currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at Texas A&M International University since January 2021. Villarreal has extensive experience in family nursing, having worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner at GATEWAY COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER INC since July 2017, and previously at LAREDO SPECIALTY HOSPITAL and GATEWAY COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER INC in similar roles. Prior nursing experience includes a position as a Registered Nurse at Laredo Medical Center from May 2008 to April 2014. Villarreal holds a Master of Science degree obtained from Texas A&M International University in 2012, and a Bachelor of Science in Registered Nursing earned from the same institution in 2008.

Services are provided from clinics in Laredo, which is situated on the U.S. – Mexico border, and from Zapata and Hebbronville, Texas.
