Azmath Pasha is a seasoned professional in project controls and management, currently serving as the Senior Director of Project Controls at the Gateway Development Commission since May 2025. Previously, Azmath held the position of Senior Manager of Project Controls at Amtrak from June 2023 to June 2025, and prior to that, served as the Director of Project Management for Capital Projects at NJ TRANSIT. With a robust background at PMA Consultants, where Azmath progressed from Associate to Director over a decade, and earlier roles as Project Engineer at MECO Electric Co., Inc. and SABIC, Azmath has extensive experience in engineering and project management. Azmath's career began as an Electrical Engineer at Suger Industries, following the attainment of a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from JNTU HYD.

Gateway Development Commission (GDC)

The Gateway Program is the most urgent infrastructure program in the country – a comprehensive rail investment program that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and create new capacity for the busiest section of the Northeast Corridor (NEC). The NEC is the most heavily used passenger rail line in the country hosting more than 2,200 train movements and 800,000 passenger trips daily. The Gateway Development Commission (GDC) is a single-purpose bi-State agency with Board members representing Amtrak and the States of New York and New Jersey. GDC is the project sponsor for the Hudson Tunnel Project.
