Scott Klingberg has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Scott served as the Director of Ministry Operations at Gateway Mission since December 2019. Before that, they worked as the General Manager at Focus on the Family from November 2018 to December 2019. Scott also worked as a Family Therapist at Eagle Village, Inc from December 2017 to November 2018. From August 2014 to December 2017, Scott Klingberg held the position of Chief Program Officer at Holland Rescue Mission and prior to that, they were the Discipleship Program Leader at the same organization from August 2012 to August 2014. Scott also served as the Pastor of Counseling and Connection at Eastpoint Community Church from May 2011 to August 2012, and as a Pastoral Counselor at CentrePointe Counseling until August 2012. Previously, they worked as the Guest Relations Manager at Sandy Cove Ministries from 2006 to 2011, and as the Director of Camping Ministries at Joy El Ministries from 2004 to 2006. Scott Klingberg's earliest work experience as an Executive Director was at Pine Trail Camp, Inc. from 1998 to 2004.

Scott Klingberg earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Cornerstone University in 1995. Scott then pursued a Master of Religious Education from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, which they completed in 1997. In 2010, Scott furthered their education by obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling/Counselor from Biblical Theological Seminary. Scott later pursued a Certificate in Advanced Professional Counseling from Missio Seminary in 2013. Currently, Scott is studying for a Doctor of Ministry degree at Clarks Summit University, with an expected completion date in 2022. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) from the State of Michigan.
