Jingsong W.'s work experience begins with their role as a Investment Banking Summer Analyst at Deutsche Bank in 2007. They then co-founded InciteBot in 2008, serving as a Co-founder until 2009. In 2010, Jingsong worked as a Developer at LOOKBOOK.nu. From 2011 to 2015, they held the position of Founding Engineer/Engineering Leader at Fivestars, a company focused on customer loyalty and marketing automation. In 2016, Jingsong joined Instagram as an Engineering Manager for Infrastructure, Product, and Applied Machine Learning, where they led the team responsible for significant growth in Instagram Direct messaging usage. In 2018, they joined Discord as the Head of Data Platform, building teams and capabilities for using data across the company. In 2020, Jingsong moved to Facebook as a Senior Engineering Manager, leading the development and scaling of the Instagram Direct messaging platform. In 2021, Jingsong took on the role of Senior Director of Engineering at Compass, before joining Gather in 2023 as the VP of Engineering.
Jingsong W. attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2004 to 2008, where they studied Computer Science and Economics.
