Stuart Head, MD PhD has worked in the medical field since 2010. From 2010 to 2014, they worked as a Resident Cardiothoracic Surgery, Postdoctoral Researcher, and PhD fellow at Erasmus MC. During this time, they mentored PhD fellows and conducted research on coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease. In 2012, they joined the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery as a EACTS Guideline Committee member and EACTS Program Committee member. In 2013, they became a CTSNet JANS contributor at CTSNet / Cardiothoracic Surgery Network. In 2011, they joined Eurointervention as an Editorial Board Member. From 2014 to 2019, they worked as a Consultant clinical strategy cardiovascular medicine. In 2019, they joined Medtronic as a Global Clinical Evidence Director. Most recently, in 2020, they joined GATT Technologies as Chief Medical Officer, where they lead the activities of Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Preclinical studies, and Clinical Regulatory medical writing. Stuart has successfully executed preclinical implant studies, first-in-human trial, regulatory submissions (EU and FDA), and many other activities.
Stuart Head, MD PhD, received their Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2015, their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cardiac surgery and catheter-based interventions from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2013, and their Drs in Medicine from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2010.
