Gihun Jung

Gihun Jung currently serves as the Head of Software and AI Platform at Gauss Labs since June 2025. Previously, Gihun held the position of Head of Cloud Computing at Kakao Corp. from April 2016 to June 2025, where leadership of a 62-member engineering team resulted in the delivery of enterprise-grade cloud platforms achieving 99.99% uptime. Gihun also worked as a Senior Engineering Manager, overseeing multiple teams developing IaaS, PaaS, and web applications. Earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Software Engineer, where significant contributions were made to OpenStack and developing proprietary networking solutions at Kakao, as well as a Software Engineer at Samsung Electronics, focusing on device drivers and performance analysis. Gihun holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Multimedia Engineering from Pukyong National University.
