Brian Creter

VP, Global Investigations at Gavin De Becker and Associates

Brian has managed many of the firm’s most sensitive and complex investigations and provides consultation regarding threat assessment cases. He directs a staff of investigators, managing thousands of confidential investigations related to public figure pursuit, workplace violence, domestic violence, extortion, theft, and surveillance; pre-employment background investigations; and due diligence investigations.

He has trained hundreds on threat assessment, investigations, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), and online privacy, including representatives from government entities, law enforcement, Fortune-500 companies, and educational institutions. He is an Instructor at The Advanced Threat Assessment Academy.

Brian consults with at-risk individuals and families on Online Privacy Assessments, providing recommendations for enhancing their safety and privacy.

He is a Manager of Special Field Services in the Protective Security Division, directing protective details for public figures and at-risk individuals and providing consultation when a known inappropriate pursuer will be present.

He worked for the New Jersey State Attorney General’s Office in the Department of Law and Public Safety.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Seton Hall University and a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from St. Joseph’s University.

He is a licensed private investigator and has been certified by the American Society of Industrial Security as a Protection Professional (CPP).
