James Hamilton has a diverse work experience in the field of protection and security. From 2015 onwards, they have served as the Senior Vice President of Quality in Protection and Training at Gavin de Becker & Associates (GDBA), where they oversee audits of protective programs and trains Protectors. Prior to that, they worked at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from 1997 to 2015, serving as a Supervisory Special Agent and holding various roles such as Program Manager for the FBI's Overseas Survival Awareness Program (OSAP) and instructor in the OSAP. James also developed and instructed the FBI's Protective Security Detail Training. From 1992 to 1997, they worked as a Criminal Investigator and Deputy Sheriff at the Richland County Sheriff's office.
James Hamilton obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government from The Citadel, where they studied from 1988 to 1992. Additionally, they have acquired several certifications in various fields such as threat assessment, crisis negotiation, firearms instruction, and tactical operations.
