Benjamin van der Merwe

Benjamin Van Der Merwe is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions since May 2023, previously serving as a Geotechnical Project Engineer at ByrneLooby from August 2021 to May 2023 and a Geotechnical Engineer at PeraGage from January 2019 to July 2021. With extensive experience in geotechnical design, Benjamin has worked on various projects involving lateral support, piling systems, shoring, foundations, and ground improvement, utilizing software for slope stability analysis and seepage analysis. Additionally, Benjamin has a background in educating students as a tutor in soil mechanics and structural analysis. Benjamin holds an Honours degree in Geotechnical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, both obtained from the University of Pretoria.
