Roy Kristensen has extensive work experience in various roles within the engineering field. Roy is currently serving as the Director of Engineering at GCT Canada since 2019. Prior to that, they held the same position at GCT Global Container Terminals Inc. from 1996 to present. Roy also served as the Assistant Director, DREP at GCT Global Container Terminals Inc. from 2014 to 2019 and as the Engineering Manager from 1996 to 2014. Before joining GCT, they worked as a Consulting Engineer at Fransen Engineering from 1994 to 1995 and as a Field Service Engineer in Drives at ABB from 1990 to 1994.

Roy Kristensen earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Lakehead University from 1987 to 1990. Prior to that, they studied Automation Robotics Engineering Technology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University from 1984 to 1987. In addition to their education, Roy also holds certifications including Field Safety Representative Class A, Unrestricted from BC Safety Authority, Professional Engineer from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC), and Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) from the Association of Energy Engineers.
