David Ruiz has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry. David currently holds the position of Lead Level Designer at Gearbox Entertainment, which they started in May 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Designer at Turtle Rock Studios from September 2018 to July 2020.
David also has extensive experience at High Moon Studios, where they held the role of Sr. Game Designer from March 2015 to August 2018. David was responsible for level construction, scripting logic, and AI direction in various projects, including Call of Duty: AW, Call of Duty: IW, and Zombies DLC map. David also contributed to the Burnwater Campaign Mission.
Earlier in their career, David worked as a Game Designer and Associate Game Designer at High Moon Studios from June 2010 to August 2012. During this time, they collaborated with programmers and managed the planning and creation of environments and mechanics for multiplayer and survival modes in Transformers: War for Cybertron.
Additionally, David completed an internship at Luxoflux in 2008 and held the role of Lead Level Designer at Game Wizards from 2006 to 2008. David also had a brief internship at Isopod Labs in 2007.
David Ruiz studied Game Design at The Art Institute of Los Angeles @ Santa Monica from 2006 to 2008, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.
