Steve Slater has been working in the technology and manufacturing industry since 1994. Steve's first role was as a CNC Machinist at Doerfer Engineering, where they operated mainly Okuma CNC mill and formulated and implemented a program to automate machine production. In 2005, they moved to Diedrichs & Associates as a System Administrator/Data Aquisition Technician, where they performed daily backups of servers and setup workstations with AutoCAD and ProEngineer. In 2006, they joined The CBE Group, Inc. as a Programmer I, mainly maintaining existing software and troubleshooting and debugging code. In 2008, they moved to Geater Manufacturing as a CNC Machinist. In 2011, they joined GMAC as a System Analyst/Developer II and in 2012, they joined Geater Machining & Mfg. as a Software Developer/Analyst, where they analyzed the process flow to streamline from current to future state, gathered requirements and designed accordingly, and created tables/queries/stored procedures for Pervasive and SQL Server Management Studio.
Steve Slater obtained a BA in Computer Science from the University of Northern Iowa between 2003 and 2005. Prior to that, they obtained an AAS in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Hawkeye Community College between 1995 and 2001.
