Chris Tompkins has a diverse and impressive work experience in the banking industry. Chris started their career as the CEO/President of First National Bank & Trust Company, overseeing multiple acquisitions and branch expansions. Chris then moved on to become the President of First National Bank Southwest, where they successfully built the market from scratch and achieved the highest market share in Frisco, Texas. Tompkins later served as the President of United Texas Bank, doubling the asset size in just 12 months through various strategic initiatives. Chris then took on the role of CEO/President at Valliance Bank, where they stabilized profitability and helped facilitate a merger. Currently, Tompkins is the SVP- Chief Commercial Services Officer at GECU, the largest financial institution in El Paso. In this position, they are responsible for managing and developing the commercial banking operation to meet the financial needs of small to medium-sized businesses.
Chris Tompkins attended Oklahoma State University from 1977 to 1981, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Chris later attended the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado from 1994 to 1996, although no specific degree or field of study was mentioned.
