RJ Johnson

SVP, Commercial Operations at Form Energy

RJ Johnson is the Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at Form Energy and has extensive renewable energy and storage experience in utility, commercial, and residential markets.

Prior to joining Form Energy, RJ led energy operations at Tesla Energy where he was responsible for business development, sales, operations and maintenance for utility, commercial, and residential storage and solar. In addition, RJ led service for Tesla’s global Supercharger network. Before working at Tesla, RJ held various senior management positions at NextEra Energy Resources, including Vice President of Origination, where he was responsible for market development, product development, customer engagement and contracting of wind, solar and storage facilities in North America for utilities, municipalities, co-operatives, and commercial & industrial customers. RJ co-founded NextEra’s energy storage business and was the commercial lead for over $3B of wind, solar and storage projects.

RJ began his career as a U.S. Army officer where he was awarded two Bronze Star Medals for exceptional combat operations. RJ earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA in Finance, Economics and Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
