Jimmy McLaren is a highly experienced sports doctor currently serving as the Club Doctor for the Geelong Cats since November 2021. Additionally, Jimmy holds positions as a Sports Doctor at Torquay Medical Health & Wellness and Geelong Sports Physicians, both of which began in October 2022 and January 2022, respectively. An Event Doctor for the World Surf League since March 2016, Jimmy has also played a significant role with the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia as a doctor, serving as Deputy Medical Director for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics and as the Australian Doctor for the Asian Winter Games Sapporo 2018. Previous experience includes being a Sports Doctor at the Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre and serving as the Team Doctor for the North Melbourne Football Club. Additional roles have included match day and team doctor positions for various sporting organizations, with an educational background in medicine from the University of Otago, holding a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).
