Mike Bathurst

Mike Bathurst has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Mike started their career at Marconi as a Software Engineer working on a real-time Battlefield Artillery Target Engagement system. Mike then joined Cavendish as a Senior Analyst, responsible for designing and developing software products in the financial service industry.

After that, Mike worked at National Westminster Bank as a Senior Designer, where they contributed to the redesign of Nat West Regular Payments front office systems. Mike then moved to GSK as a Technical Lead, where they were responsible for a three-tier client-server application that provided sales and forecasting information for GSK's global markets.

Following their stint at GSK, Mike joined News Corp as an HRU Team Leader, overseeing the day-to-day running of the team and launching a Technical Forum. Mike then joined Alchemy Plus Business Solutions, where they served as Operations Director and implemented procedures to improve productivity and profitability across the company. Mike also held the position of Software Development Manager, overseeing all software projects.

Currently, Mike is working at Global Energy Group as the Chief Technology Officer, leading the Business Solutions Team and providing full lifecycle development utilizing various Microsoft technologies. Mike has also taken on the additional responsibility of leading the Technical Services Team.

Mike Bathurst attended Bracknell College of Further Education from 1990 to 1992, where they earned an HNC in Software Engineering. Prior to that, from 1988 to 1990, they studied at Farnborough College of Technology and obtained an ONC in Computer Studies. In addition to their formal education, Mike has obtained various certifications throughout their career, including Azure Data Lake for Developers, Introduction to Digital Twins, Charlene Li on Digital Leadership, Strategic Agility, Big Data in the Age of AI, Cloud Architecture: Advanced Concepts, Artificial Intelligence Foundations: Thinking Machines, Business Collaboration in the Modern Workplace, Cloud Architecture: Core Concepts, Digital Transformation, Foundations of The Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0), RPA, AI, and Cognitive Tech for Leaders, Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and PRINCE2 Practitioner.
