Heather Stafford is an accomplished healthcare professional with extensive experience in quality, patient safety, and infection prevention. Currently serving as Associate Vice President of Quality and Safety at Geisinger since August 2022, Heather previously held leadership positions at UPMC, including Clinical Director of Nursing Education and Infection Control, where responsibilities included overseeing Wound Healing, Infusion, Diabetes, and Sleep Services. As Director of Nursing at Divine Providence Hospital and Director of Infection Prevention and Control at UPMC Susquehanna, Heather managed regulatory compliance and developed strategic policies. Earlier roles at the PA Department of Health and Virginia Department of Health included directing communicable disease operations and HIV/AIDS services. Heather holds a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Mansfield University.
