Karyn Murphy

Karyn Murphy is a highly experienced genomic data scientist currently serving as the Lead Genomic Data Scientist at Geisinger since February 2023. Prior to this role, Karyn held several positions at GeneDx, including Assistant Technical Director of Clinical Development and Assistant Director of Clinical Applications from March 2020 to February 2023. Additionally, Karyn was the Bioinformatics Manager at Millipore Sigma from September 2018 to March 2020 and an Instructor at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis from July 2015 to September 2018. Earlier experience includes a role as Staff Scientist at Washington University School of Medicine from 2012 to 2015 and Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington from 2009 to 2012. Karyn earned a Ph.D. in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Emory University in 2009 and a B.A. in Physical and Biological Anthropology from Northwestern University in 2001.
