Markos Katsimis has a diverse and extensive work experience in the energy and finance sectors. Markos began their career as an intern at the National Bank of Greece in 2004. In 2009, they joined Terna Energy S.A. as a Financial Analyst, where they were responsible for analyzing international projects in the wind and renewables industry. Markos played a crucial role in due diligence, risk analysis, financial modeling, and structuring financing sources for projects. In 2013, Katsimis joined GEK TERNA S.A. as an Energy & Infrastructure Projects Development/Project Finance Director. In this role, they were involved in bidding, acquiring, and developing projects in the infrastructure and energy sectors, including renewable energy and public-private partnerships. Notably, they worked on restructuring large motorway concessions and the PPP Peloponnese Waste Management project. Katsimis then moved to TERNA ENERGY in 2019, where they served as Deputy CEO of Terna Energy USA. Currently, they hold the position of Originations Director in the General Directorate of Business Development at the GEK TERNA Group of Companies, a role they started in 2022.
Markos Katsimis completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Government and Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2005. Prior to that, they attended Moraitis School for their high school education from 1990 to 2002. Markos then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Energy, Trade, and Finance from Cass Business School in 2006-2007. In addition to their formal education, Markos obtained certifications in Managerial Finance and Real Estate Economics and Finance from LSE in 2020.
