Christel Araujo has over 10 years of experience in the fashion industry. Christel began their career as a Designer for GBG Socks, LLC | Planet Sox in 2015. In 2017, they were promoted to Senior Designer- Active for Global Brands Group (GBG). In 2018, they took on a Freelance Designer role for Leg Apparel & Accessories Group, followed by a Freelance Designer/ CAD artist role for Belldini in 2019. That same year, they were appointed as Head Designer- Juniors Cut- n - Sewn for Fashion Avenue Knits, Inc. In 2021, they accepted a role as Designer - Soft Good Product Development for Gembah, and an Instructor- Arts & Crafts role for BUNDLE. Christel is currently an Adjunct Professor - Fashion Design - Draping for SUNY Westchester Community College. In addition, they have had several freelance roles, including Lead Designer and Founder for Alto Design Inc., and Freelance Print Designer for Five Points Graphics.
Christel Araujo attended the Fashion Institute of Technology from 2004-2006, where they earned an AAS in Fashion Design. Christel then continued their studies at the same institution from 2006-2008 and earned a BSA in Fashion Merchandising. In addition, they have obtained two certifications from the Fashion Institute of Technology: an Introduction to CLO's 3D Garment Visualization in March 2022 and an Introduction to Browzwear's VStitcher in October 2020.
