Anke van Extel-van Katwijk

Anke van Extel-van Katwijk has served as Burgemeester of Gemeente Asten since January 2021. Prior to this role, Anke held various positions in Gemeente Gemert-Bakel, including Wethouder for spatial planning and public management from March 2014 to January 2021, and Gemeenteraadslid for the CDA, where Anke was Fractievoorzitter from 2004 to 2010. Anke has also worked as Raadsadviseur in Gemeente Veghel from 2009 to 2014 and was Provinciaal Statenlid for Provincie Noord-Brabant from March 2011 to March 2014. Anke's political involvement includes a candidacy for the Tweede Kamer as a candidate for the CDA in 2011 and previously receiving votes as a candidate in 2004. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Culturele en Maatschappelijke Vorming from Fontys Hogeschool Eindhoven and training from Bestuursacademie Tilburg.
