Derk Alssema

Derk Alssema has extensive experience in public service and management, currently serving as Burgemeester of Gemeente Gilze en Rijen since April 2020. Previously, Derk Alssema held the position of Wethouder in Gemeente Goes from March 2010 to April 2020, overseeing portfolios including Spatial Planning, Economic Affairs, Youth & Education, Sports, and Energy and Climate Policy. In addition, Derk Alssema has contributed to the Gemeente Goes as a Fractievoorzitter and gemeenteraadslid for the CDA party. Earlier experience includes a role as Teamleider Particulieren at Rabobank Oosterschelde from June 2007 to July 2015, along with initial work as a trainee Procescontroller. Derk Alssema holds an HBO degree in Management, Economics, and Law from HZ University of Applied Sciences and a Havo diploma from Calvijn College.
