Arjen van Gijssel

Arjen van Gijssel is currently serving as Wethouder at Gemeente Berkelland since June 2022. Prior to this role, Arjen was the owner and author at Leven beschreven from 2011 to June 2022, having written several historical books and poems. Arjen has extensive experience in advocacy as a belangenbehartiger at Aedes vereniging van woningcorporaties from December 2004 to June 2022. Arjen also worked as a senior consultant at B&A and B&A Consulting bv between 2004 and 2006. In the public sector, Arjen held various positions at the Ministry of Finance in the Netherlands from 1994 to 2004, culminating in the role of Head of the European Union Division, after advancing through several levels including Head of EU & Monetary Affairs Division. Arjen holds a degree from the University of Groningen, where studies focused on French language and culture.
