Willy Tadema is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data science, AI governance, and ethics. Currently serving as a member of the ethical committee for data and technology at Gemeente Groningen, and an advisor on AI standards at the Ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken en Koninkrijksrelaties since January 2023, Willy is actively involved in shaping ethical frameworks for AI in governmental organizations through roles at NEN as a member of the National Standards Body for AI and at Rijks ICT Gilde as the AI Governance & AI Ethics Lead. A background as a data scientist and senior data science advisor at various organizations, including the Centraal Justitieel Incassobureau and Provincie Groningen, highlights expertise in implementing privacy-by-design and ethics-by-design frameworks in machine learning lifecycle processes. Willy holds a Master of Science in Agricultural Systems Engineering with a major in Biometrics from Wageningen University & Research and has pursued further education at IT Academy Noord-Nederland, KU Leuven, and Utrecht University.
