Joël Heiner

Joël Heiner is an accomplished communication professional with extensive experience in strategic communication and leadership roles. Currently serving as Hoofd communicatie at Gemeente Harlingen since March 2023, Joël oversees a communication team and acts as a strategic advisor and spokesperson for the mayor and aldermen. Joël is also engaged as a strategic communication advisor at Veiligheidsregio Fryslân, where responsibilities include leading crisis communication efforts. Prior experience includes strategic communication advising at Provincie Fryslân, and various leadership roles within VVD Leeuwarden and VVD Fryslân. Joël has a background in managing sales, marketing, and communications at ICIT Solutions BV and has run freelance marketing and communication projects through MarCompagnon and FOLLOWR. Joël holds a BA in International Business & Languages from NHL Hogeschool and completed education at Nyenrode Business University in 2022.
