Robert Baake has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Robert started their career as a Stagiair at Ariane automatisering in 1999, where they gained experience in all aspects of computer assembly, installation, repair, and customer support. Robert then joined Progress automatisering as a Stagiair in 2000.

In 2005, Baake joined Aveleijn, where they held several roles over the years. Robert started as a Stagiair/afstudeerder Bedrijfskundige informatica, where they focused on document management and optimizing the invoicing process. Robert then progressed to roles such as Systeem/netwerkbeheerder and Sr. Systeem/netwerkbeheerder, where they were responsible for system and network administration.

Baake also worked as a Coördinator afd. ICT at Aveleijn, where they served as a team leader and acted as a liaison between the business and IT departments. During this time, they contributed to the renewal and optimization of the IT infrastructure and developed a strategic plan presented to the management.

In 2015, Baake transitioned to the role of Senior medewerker ICT and Teamleider skilled servicedesk ICT at Aveleijn. Robert led a team of skilled service desk professionals, provided expert advice on various ICT-related issues, and managed multiple projects.

From 2017 to 2018, Baake held the position of Teamleider Servicedesk / Projectmanager / Security Officer at Aveleijn. In addition to their supervisory and project management responsibilities, they also served as a security officer and advisor.

In 2018, Baake joined Gemeente Hengelo as an IT-Beleidsadviseur / CISO / Projectmanager, where they played a key role in IT policy advising, as well as overseeing information security and managing projects. Recently, they were promoted to the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the same organization.

In 2021, Baake became the Voorzitter of the Regionale kenniskring CISO's, where they actively lead and contributes to the knowledge sharing and collaboration among CISOs.

Robert Baake completed their education at several institutions. Robert attended Saxion University of Applied Sciences from 2002 to 2006, where they obtained a BC degree in Bedrijfskundige informatica (Business Informatics). Prior to that, they studied at ROC from 1998 to 2002, earning a Niveau 4 degree in Elektrotechniek en Computerinterfacetechniek (Electrical Engineering and Computer Interface Technology). Additionally, Robert Baake obtained the ITIL Foundation Certificate from EXIN in March 2016. At an unspecified time, they also studied at the Security Academy, specializing in CISM.
