Gerard van Wijhe

Gerard van Wijhe has been working in the field of spatial planning and economy for over 20 years. Gerard started their career as a project manager for a construction company. After a few years, they transitioned into the public sector where they have worked for several different municipalities in the Netherlands. In their current role as corporate director for spatial planning and economy at Gemeente Lansingerland, Gerard is responsible for overseeing the municipality's economic development, land use planning, and infrastructure projects. Prior to their current role, they served as the project director for gemeente Maassluis, where they were responsible for organizational development and community initiatives. Gerard has also held leadership roles at Rijnhart Wonen, a housing association, and NOLPO New Leadership, an educational organization. In addition to their work in the public sector, Gerard is also a bestuurslid of Kring Rotterdam, an organization that promotes young leadership in the Netherlands.

Gerard van Wijhe has a background in Directeurentraject / Strategisch Leiderschap in het Publiek Domein from the Nederlandse School voor Openbaar Bestuur, NSOB. Gerard also has a Leergang coach en Verdiepingstraject coach from Schouten & Nelissen. Finally, they have an ir. in Bouwkunde from Delft University of Technology.
