Paul Bakker

Paul Bakker has extensive experience in environmental policy and water quality management, currently serving as a Burgerraadslid at Gemeente Ridderkerk since June 2022. Since July 2016, Paul has held the role of Coördinerend Beleidsadviseur Waterkwaliteit at Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat, previously working as a Senior Beleidsmedewerker. Before this, Paul was employed at Rijkswaterstaat from October 2005 to June 2016 as a Senior Advisor on discharge emissions related to the chemical and petrochemical industries in Rotterdam, and also served as an Advisor and Junior Advisor under the Dutch Water Act. Paul started a career in wastewater management at ExxonMobil as a Junior Advisor from October 2004 to October 2005. Paul holds two Bachelor's degrees in Environmental Science, obtained from Inholland University of Applied Sciences and Open Universiteit.
