Mitchel Konings is an experienced professional in the fields of energy transition and environmental policy. Currently serving as Adviseur Energietransitie and Adviseur Milieu at Gemeente Roosendaal since April 2021, Mitchel focuses on future spatial developments and policy formulation. Prior roles include Juridisch Medewerker at LGL legal, Sportsinstructor at Milon Club Orthomedic, and Legal Coder at Effective Nature Laws Group. Additionally, Mitchel was a Board Member of the Honours Program Topclass at Tilburg University and participated in the Nationale Requireerwedstrijd 2018. Mitchel holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in European Law and Global Risk and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in Dutch Law from Tilburg University.

More than 77,000 inhabitants live in a strategic location between the world ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, a junction of railways and highways. In 1854 a Belgian company built the railway to Antwerp and in 1907 a large station complex was put into use. It meant great economic growth for Roosendaal. In 2018, the city of Roosendaal will be 750 years old. Today, Roosendaal is still a logistics hotspot, attracting large international distribution centers. But the Roosendaal economy is much more diverse than logistics alone.
