Daphne Steenbergen currently serves as an Adviseur bestuurlijke zaken for Gemeente Utrecht since March 2023, focusing on the Wervengebied program. Previously, Daphne held the position of (Burger)raadslid for Gemeente Gouda from June 2022 to January 2024, acting as spokesperson for the ChristenUnie committees and briefly serving as a replacement council member. Daphne's experience also includes a role as Medewerker Public Affairs at VNG Connect Trainees & Detachering, with assignments at gemeente Zwolle and Regio Zwolle, and participation in various governmental projects during a traineeship. Previous positions include Commissiesecretaris Ruimte at gemeente Den Haag and Programmasecretaris grensoverschrijdende samenwerking at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. Daphne also completed an internship at the Consulate-General in St. Petersburg in early 2020. Academic qualifications consist of an MSc in Political Science and an MA in Russian and Eurasian Studies from Leiden University, a Minor in International Relations from Saint Petersburg State University, and a Bachelor's degree in European Languages and Cultures from the University of Groningen.
