Gemeente Westerwolde
Marco Visscher has a diverse career spanning multiple sectors, including environmental oversight, municipal governance, and process engineering. Currently serving as Toezichthouder Milieu at Omgevingsdienst Groningen since September 2023, Marco provides support and advice on environmental matters. Since January 2018, Marco holds the positions of Fractievoorzitter Gemeentebelangen Westerwolde and Gemeenteraadslid for Gemeente Westerwolde. Previous experience includes a senior role in process operations at Avantium, where Marco contributed to the establishment of pilot plants, and positions at companies such as Delamine B.V., British American Tobacco, and Cabot Norit Activated Carbon, focusing on process operation and efficiency. Marco’s educational background includes training in bedrijfspsychologie and certifications in LEAN and other management techniques.
