Klaas Kingma is an accomplished architect and educator with extensive experience in the field of architecture and urban design. Currently serving as the chairman of the Welstand en Monumenten Committee at Gemeente Zandvoort since January 2021, Klaas also operates as the architect and owner of KKA architecten since 2015. Educational contributions include a role as a graduation instructor at Academie van Bouwkunst Groningen since 2013 and previous positions as an instructor and examiner at Academie van Bouwkunst Amsterdam. Klaas has been actively involved in various organizations, including membership in the BNA members council and as a member of the programming council for Vrienden van het NAi. Formerly a vice chairman at Gemeente Leiden, Klaas's early career included roles such as assistant designer at OMA and owning Kingma Roorda architecten from 1989 to 2014. Klaas holds a Master of Science in Architecture from Delft University of Technology, completed in 1986.
