Cathy Brown van der Maarel

Cathy Brown van der Maarel serves as the Strategic Communications Lead and Speechwriter at Gemini Industries since November 2022, providing communications support to the United States Space Force Director of Staff. Previously, Cathy held various roles within the US Army from 2004 to 2022, including Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Defense Exports and Cooperation as a Public Affairs Specialist, and Deputy Director of Public Affairs at U.S. Army Cyber Command. Notable experience also includes leading the Public Affairs Team at U.S. Army Europe and managing media relations at US European Command. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Norwich University and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of South Carolina.
