Matthew Burfield is a seasoned educational leader with a robust career spanning over two decades, currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Education at GEMS Education, responsible for the financial and educational leadership of eight schools in the UAE and overseeing the management of multiple principals. Matthew has held significant roles such as Executive Principal and CEO of GEMS Founders School, where strategic planning led to a substantial increase in student enrollment, and previously served as Vice President of Education for another cluster of schools. Additional leadership positions include Non-Executive Director at the European Azerbaijan School, Executive Board Member at AoBSO, and Committee Member at BSME. Matthew has extensive experience in school inspections as a BSO Accredited Inspector and Lead Improvement Partner with international organizations. With an educational background that includes multiple qualifications in executive leadership and teaching, Matthew is committed to driving growth and improving educational outcomes in international schools.
