Zafar Raja

Zafar Raja (FCCA) is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in operational leadership across various sectors, including education, healthcare, and technology. Currently serving as the Group Chief Operating Officer at GEMS Education since April 2022, Zafar previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer at CareTech MENA and GEMS Education’s Chief Operating Officer from December 2015 to December 2019. Zafar's background includes significant roles with Serco, where Zafar served as Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East division and Managing Director of Serco Health, leading initiatives that expanded business operations and strategic partnerships. Additional experience includes key positions at Capita, Schlumberger, and SEMA Group, where Zafar implemented strategic plans and operational improvements. Zafar's educational credentials include an Advanced Management Programme from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of London.
