Dan Updike

Dan Updike holds extensive experience in the food industry, currently serving as the Senior Director of Sales & Product Development at Gemsa Oils since April 2025. Previously, Dan worked at Mizkan America as the Director of Ingredient Sales for North America from September 2021 to May 2025. Notable roles include Senior Director of North American Industrial Sales and Regional Manager at Richardson International, where a focus on canola-based oils and fat replacements was key. Early career positions span several companies including Ventura Foods, Dow Chemical, Bunge, Central Soya, Universal Edible Oils, and Kraft Food Ingredients, with roles in sales, product management, and quality control. Dan holds a degree in Food Science from Purdue University, obtained between 1979 and 1983.
