Brian Haviland currently serves as Assistant Vice President of Claims at General Star Management Co., where responsibilities include managing Excess and Surplus claims related to New York Labor Law, overseeing case development, and negotiating financial settlements. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Claims Specialist at Liberty Mutual Insurance, managing complex lawsuits and determining coverage, as well as Claims Specialist at Liberty International Underwriters, where management of moderate losses was key. Brian began a career in claims at AIG, focusing on New York Labor Law cases, and previously worked as a Project Manager at Underwriters Laboratories. Brian holds a Master’s Degree in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language & Literature from the University of Maryland.
