Andrew Hofmann, PE has extensive experience in engineering and product development. Andrew currently holds the position of Vice President of Engineering at Genasys Inc. where they work closely with the CEO, CFO, Sales, and Operations leadership teams. In this role, they are responsible for advancing the technology and engineering strategy, leading a world-class hardware and SaaS product development organization, and managing the Engineering organization across multiple continents. Andrew is also involved in the day-to-day operations and provides technical direction and guidance as needed.
Prior to their current role, Andrew was the R&D Director of Engineering, New Product Development at Genasys Inc. where they led the development of new products to address customer and market needs. Andrew also worked as an R&D Sr. Systems Architect and Hardware Design Engineer at the same company, where they led product architecture and design through all phases of development.
Before joining Genasys Inc., Andrew worked at Oracle as an R&D Sr. Hardware Design Engineer, specializing in designing servers for mission-critical applications. Andrew was responsible for delivering robust solutions and quickly iterating on the design process.
Earlier in their career, Andrew worked at Hewlett-Packard as an R&D Hardware Design Engineer, where they designed electro-mechanical components and assemblies for high-volume consumer and business products. Andrew also had experience in performing tolerance analysis, analyzing first article inspection data, and working closely with contract manufacturers.
Andrew started their career as a Research and Development Intern at CalSolAgua, where they gained experience in the development of solar water heaters. Andrew also worked as a Research Intern at Expanding Pathways to Science, Engineering, and Mathematics (EPSEM).
Throughout their career, Andrew has demonstrated strong leadership, technical expertise, and a hands-on approach to product development. Andrew has a proven track record of successfully delivering projects and driving innovation in engineering.
Andrew Hofmann, PE holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree and a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Andrew obtained their B.S. degree at an unspecified time and completed their M.S. degree in 2010. Additionally, Andrew has acquired several certifications, including a Professional Engineer (PE) license from the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists in May 2013. Andrew is also a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), holds a Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) certification from Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp., and has completed the Engineer-in-Training (FE/EIT) examination administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying.
