David Worley has a diverse work experience in software design and development. David worked as a Software Designer at Genasys Communications Canada from September 2020 to present, and then continued in a similar role at Genasys Inc. starting from October 2020. Prior to that, they were a Junior Software Developer at Amika Mobile from July 2019 to October 2020. In addition, David also has experience in academia, having worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Windsor from September 2016 to December 2020, and as a Research Assistant from September 2018 to April 2019.

David Worley completed their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics at the University of Windsor from 2016 to 2021. During this time, they also pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, which they obtained in the same period. Following their undergraduate studies, they enrolled in the University of Ottawa in 2021 to pursue a Ph.D. in Computer Science, which they are expected to complete in 2025.
