Candace Snapp grew up in a tiny Southern Illinois town surrounded by cornfields, cows, and small-town folks. She studied Health Education and Theater at SIU in Carbondale, IL, while working as a group exercise instructor, personal trainer, and manager of local gyms. Upon graduation, Candace moved to Chicago and gained nearly 17 years of experience creating, implementing, and managing wellness programs and curriculums in corporate environments, federal settings, and schools. While in the Windy City, she also performed weekly as a standup comedian and improv comedy player in theaters like Second City, iO, and CIC. She enjoyed working as a voice-over and on-camera talent for commercials and indie films as well.
Candace loves to travel. She and her husband of 19 years visited the PNW in 2017. Its beauty took their breath away! So when an opportunity to move across the country presented itself, they were excited to relocate to the west coast. She spent time in southern Oregon as a Secondary School Teacher while also serving part-time as a Virtual Health Coach. While coaching, she enjoyed working with her senior clients and decided to transition her skills to working with the 55+ community full-time. She's thrilled to be in Washington, working with GenCare! Candace uses her creativity, wellness knowledge, and program management expertise to positively impact GenCare residents and staff in the Vitality and Fitness program development. Besides comedy and wellness, Candace enjoys hiking, biking, writing, and producing short films. She also adores her 17-year-old dog, a Japanese chin mix, and enjoys taking her on walks.
