Marcia Ogasawara has a diverse work experience in the field of genetics and research. Marcia is currently working as a Clinical Genetics Research Scientist at Gene by Gene since November 2019. Prior to that, they served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center from November 2014 to May 2016. Marcia also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at MD Anderson Cancer Center from 2006 to August 2014. Additionally, they gained experience as a Research Assistant at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, where they worked from February 2005 to July 2006.
Marcia Ogasawara began their education at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology from 2001 to 2006. Marcia then pursued further studies at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) from 2006 to 2014, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Cancer Biology. Most recently, in 2018-2019, they attended Penn State University, where they completed a Graduate Certificate in Applied Bioinformatics.
