Christopher Smith

Christopher Smith is an experienced professional in the field of molecular biology and bioinformatics, currently serving as the Head of the US Biologics Business Unit and Head of Scientific Account Management at Genedata since August 2011. Prior to that, Christopher held academic positions as an Assistant Professor at San Francisco State University from January 2007 to 2011 and guest faculty and research scientist roles at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from 2003 to 2011. Christopher contributed to the Berkeley Drosophila Genome Project as a Post-Doctoral Researcher from 2002 to 2003 and completed graduate research at the University of California, San Francisco, earning a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from 2001. Earlier in the career, Christopher worked in various roles, including QA Bioinformatics at DoubleTwist and as a Laboratory Specialist at the University of Virginia- Robert L. Chevalier Lab. Academic credentials include a B.S. in Microbiology & Immunology from the University of Rochester.
