Matthias Fassler

Matthias Fassler has a diverse work experience in the field of life sciences and product management. Matthias started their career as a Doctoral Student and later worked as a Post-Doc at the Leibniz Institute for Age Research. During this time, they conducted fundamental research on Alzheimer's Disease and developed cell-based assays using techniques such as FACS, High Content Imaging, and Fluorescence Microscopy.

In 2011, Matthias joined PerkinElmer Cellular Technologies Germany GmbH as an Application Scientist. Here, they focused on developing assays for high content imaging systems and image analysis strategies. Matthias also worked on preparing marketing material for high content imaging systems and specifying future software developments.

Since 2014, Matthias has been working at Genedata in various roles. Matthias started as a Scientific Account Manager, where they were responsible for managing customer accounts and providing technical support. Later, they served as a Product Manager, overseeing the development and management of new products. Currently, they are the Head Of Product Management, leading a team and serving as a system architect for distributed computing systems. Matthias is also responsible for conducting proof of concept studies, presenting at conferences, and educating stakeholders in the sales force.

Throughout their career, Matthias has gained expertise in deep learning-based image analysis, cloud-based deployment, and high content screening technologies. Matthias has also managed projects for the deployment of commercial off-the-shelf software in big pharma organizations and provided training and support to users.

Matthias Fassler completed their education in a chronological manner. From 2000 to 2005, they attended Friedrich Schiller University Jena where they obtained a Diplom degree in Biochemie und Molekularbiologie. Following this, from 2005 to 2009, they continued their education at the same university and earned a Doctorate degree (Dr. rer. nat.) in Zellbiologie, Neurobiologie.

In addition to their formal education, Matthias Fassler has obtained two additional certifications. Firstly, they have obtained the Professional Scrum Product Owner™ I (PSPO I) certification from Scrum.org in October 2022. Secondly, they have completed the Mathematical Biostatistics Boot Camp 1, however, the specific details regarding the institution and the year of completion are not available.
