Christina Elling is an Associate Clinical Variant Scientist at GeneDx since October 2023, focusing on the independent interpretation of variants in clinical DNA specimens to aid in the diagnosis and screening of genetic diseases. Prior to this role, Christina served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus from August 2018 to October 2023, under the supervision of Regie Santos-Cortez, MD, PhD. Christina also held positions as a Graduate Research Assistant and Research Technician II in the Animal and Dairy Science department at the University of Georgia from August 2015 to July 2018, supervised by Dr. Steven Stice, and as a Student Assistant at the Center for Applied Genetic Technologies, UGA, from January 2013 to July 2015, under the supervision of Dr. Wayne Parrott. Christina earned a PhD in Human Medical Genetics and Genomics from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (August 2018 - January 2023) and a BS in Genetics from the University of Georgia (2011 - 2015).
