Jake Reiss

Jake Reiss is a Technical Development Scientist 2 at Genentech since July 2025, specializing in cultivated meat with expertise in cell culture media and bioprocess development. Prior to this role, Jake served as Scientist I at UPSIDE Foods, where responsibilities included leading R&D projects to enhance bioprocess productivity and improve the sensory attributes of cultivated meat. Jake's experience also encompasses positions such as Senior Research Associate and Research Associate II, focusing on media formulation development. Earlier research experience includes work as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, developing bioengineered clean meat, and engineering roles at GE Healthcare and the University of Wisconsin.
