John Davies

John Davies is a highly accomplished scientist with extensive experience in immunobiology and cancer research. Currently serving as a Principal Scientist at Genentech since March 2021, John has progressed through various titles including Senior Scientist, Scientist, and Associate Scientist. Prior to this role, John worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Cancer Institute from May 2016 to February 2021, focusing on engineering T cells for cancer treatment in clinical trials and mouse models. Academic training includes a Ph.D. in Immunobiology from the University of Arizona, where research investigated age-related immune dysfunction and T cell biology. Additional experience includes a Post-Bacc Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, and undergraduate research in bioinformatics at Montana State University.
