Kangway Chuang

Kangway Chuang is a Principal AI Scientist and Group Lead at Genentech, leading a research group dedicated to developing advanced machine learning algorithms for drug discovery since September 2021. Previously, from 2017 to September 2021, Kangway served as an Arnold O. Beckman Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco, focusing on machine and deep learning applications in chemical, biological, and biomedical processes, including creating new molecular representations with graph neural networks. Additionally, Kangway co-created and taught a course on deep learning for biological sciences at UCSF. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. and a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Chemistry from Caltech.
