Mario Riojas, Ph.D., J.D., is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in patent law and technology development. Currently serving as Patent Counsel at Genentech and Associate Director of Technology Development & Intellectual Property at the Polsky Center at the University of Chicago, Mario's prior roles include Patent Agent at CTRL-labs and Cooley LLP, and Patent Examiner at the USPTO, where expertise in Artificial Intelligence was emphasized. An educational background includes a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Juris Doctor degree focusing on Intellectual Property and Information Law, both complemented by a Master’s degree in the same field and a Bachelor's degree in Cybernetic Electronic Engineering.
