Ramir Vega

Ramir Vega is a skilled scientist with a Bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, obtained in 2013. Ramir began a career in research as an Undergraduate Research Apprentice at UC Berkeley, focusing on Aurora kinase and cell cycle regulation in Giardia lamblia. Subsequent roles include Research Associate II at Beckman Research Institute, where research focused on SUMO and cancer therapy targets, and as a Research Associate II at Zymergen, leading the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) group in production. Ramir also held positions at Illumina as Associate Scientist, contributing to research and development for advanced platforms and devices. Currently, Ramir serves as Scientist 3 at Genentech, starting in January 2023, after a brief tenure as Scientist 2 at Illumina.
