Jian Yan, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the field of antigen and therapeutic protein design. Jian is currently serving as the Vice President of Research and Discovery at Geneos Therapeutics since May 2022. Prior to this, they held positions as the Vice President of Antigen Design and Product Development at NEUVOGEN, Inc. from September 2020 to May 2022, and as the Senior Director of Innovation and Antigen Design from February 2020 to August 2020.

Before joining NEUVOGEN, Inc., Jian Yan worked at Inovio Pharmaceuticals Inc. for several years. Jian served as the Director of Antigen and Therapeutic Protein Design from August 2019 to February 2020. Prior to this, they held positions such as the Associate Director of Antigen Design and Discovery from March 2016 to July 2019, and as the Antigen Design Lead in the Antigen Design and Discovery department. In this role, they were responsible for strategic insight, therapeutic target evaluation, and leadership in therapeutic vaccine target evaluation, discovery, and design using SynCon technology.

Jian Yan's career began at the University of Pennsylvania where they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow from March 2004 to August 2009, and later as a Senior Research Investigator from March 2009 to August 2010. During this time, they created and established the novel SynCon Technology for infectious disease and cancer vaccine design. Jian designed therapeutic vaccines against solid tumors and infectious diseases and evaluated vaccine efficacy in animal models through various immunological assays.

Jian Yan obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Fudan University. No specific start or end years are provided.
